Presagis is recruiting an Embedded Systems SQA (Software Quality Assurance) Lead to work in its Embedded Graphics business unit.
With a strong focus on the commercial and military avionics domains, Presagis’ Embedded Graphics business unit develops software tools to help our customers create the graphical displays used in modern glass cockpits. This position involves taking a leading role in:
- Ensuring adherence to Presagis’ DO-178C and AS9100 processes;
- Enhancing Presagis’ DO-178C and AS9100 processes by identifying and implementing continuous improvement and corrective actions;
- Maintaining Presagis workflow documentation and the Quality Management System;
- Recommending or developing software tools to manage or monitor the workflow;
- Supporting certification audits by customers and certification/accreditation authorities;
- Assisting with sales capture efforts by presenting Presagis certification story;
- Helping to improve the quality of Presagis software products by identifying enhancements to development or verification activities;
- Assisting in the collection of data for Government tax credit reports.
Presagis develops both DO-178-certifiable and non-certifiable software tool products. The successful candidate will work in a team that has extensive experience in delivering certifiable software, and will help guide the team to improve the quality of those products, and to improve the efficiency of certifiable software development. The successful candidate will also be responsible for helping Presagis maintain its certification under AS9100 and other certifications that are envisioned for the future.
The successful candidate will audit all aspects of Presagis’ software development lifecycle, interacting directly with engineers developing use cases, requirements, design, implementation and verification. The role provides opportunities to use technical knowledge, business acumen, and interpersonal skills in order to make a positive impact.
Responsibilities
- Act as a subject matter expert for certification topics to software engineering groups
- Monitor adherence to Presagis documented development workflows
- Audit internal processes
- Lead SQA audits with customers and certification authorities

- Enhance processes to satisfy guidelines and improve efficiency
Requirements
- Bachelor degree in engineering or computer science
- Experience in the role of Software Quality Assurance and in maintaining a quality system
- Knowledge of avionics software certification processes, such as DO-178C, AS9100/9115, CMMI-5 etc.
- 3+ years of experience in object oriented software development (asset)
- Knowledge of embedded systems, RTOS’ and hardware (asset)
