Vega Prime, with its cross-platform, scalable environment, is the most productive COTS toolkit for real-time 3D application development and deployment.
Providing the only framework you need to rapidly configure, create, and deploy advanced simulation applications, Vega Prime delivers the tools you need for the optimal end-to-end solution. And, because it allows for the easy integration of new or existing code, Vega Prime offers tremendous cost and time savings by improving your asset utilization and re-use.
Through features and functionality designed specifically for the requirements of visual simulation, Vega Prime provides developers and programmers with the means to rapidly and flexibly develop high performance applications with minimum effort and maximum productivity and flexibility. Based on the Vega Scene Graph (VSG) advanced cross platform scene graph API, Vega Prime includes
Presagis also offers several powerful COTS application-specific modules that work with Vega Prime for solving the challenges of real-time 3D application development. The Vega Prime infrastructure allows you to create your own custom development modules and to scale the functionality based on the complexity of the application.

Vega Prime delivers the infrastructure needed for the optimal end-to-end solution. Its extendable architecture supports a high degree of customization, allowing you to tailor the application to fit your design rather than altering your software to fit within a product’s constraints. In addition, its scalable architecture prevents unnecessary performance overhead because you are able to scale the functionality based on the complexity of the application.
Ideal for both high performance and low cost hardware platforms, Vega Prime’s plug-in architecture facilitates the rapid design and prototyping of real-time 3D applications. With access to all of the functionality available in VSG while providing an enhanced level of functionality, ease-of-use, and productivity, Vega Prime allows you to spend more time on the application-specific functionality required by your project.
Vega Prime provides a development environment designed specifically to increase your ability to rapidly create and deploy advanced real-time 3D applications. In addition to the flexibility of VSG and the ease of use of a GUI configuration tool, Vega Prime delivers such functionality as environment effects, motion models, coordinate systems, virtual texture, and path/navigator tools.
By taking advantage of core capabilities, Vega Prime is designed to facilitate the development and deployment of applications that require very large or complex databases. High performance levels are guaranteed by optimizing the loading and organization of large datasets through the dynamic paging of “tiles” and user definable paging centers or Areas of Interest. Vega Prime offers optimized rendering that is fully customizable and scalable to take advantage of available resources.
Maintaining support for new and existing industry standards, Vega Prime now offers out-of-the-box integration with the following standards:
Vega Prime provides the loading, paging, and rendering of the OTW (Out The Window) scene content in CDB format as a core capability. CDB dramatically improves the maintainability and reusability of content by providing a means to use source data directly in many applications without modification to the database itself.
Vega Prime includes the integrated support for the DIS/HLA communication protocols. This capability is included in the base configuration of the product, includes support for Windows and Linux platforms, and is compatible with both MÄK and Pitch RTIs.
New features have been developed to provide improved realism, training value, and usability, including:
Vega Prime provides the ability to easily create, define, and render helicopter-based special effects. Users can quickly and easily define and represent blade, rotor wash, and rotor dust effects.
This capability provides the ability to include dynamic shadows in the scene based on either the celestial bodies (sun/moon) or a user-defined light source. The ability to define shadows based on a user-defined light source gives increased control and flexibility to the types of applications that can benefit from the use of dynamic shadows.
Improved workflow and performance is delivered specifically to address Terra Vista generated content that includes Smart Mesh technology. Smart Marsh provides users with the ability to match terrain tile edges along multiple LODs, preventing cracks and visual anomalies in the database.
Create dynamic shadows in a scene, based on the celestial bodies (sun/moon). This capability provides dynamic self-shadowing of entities and objects, terrain shadowing of entities/objects, entity/object shadowing of terrain and other entities/objects. These dynamic shadows are supported in the OTW, NVG, and IR wavelengths.
Vega Prime provides the ability to easily create and add a threat dome or 3D volume to any scene.
Support for Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 (aka VC9) compiler is now included with Vega Prime and the Sensor toolkit Products.
Users who are using software-based license servers can now ‘check out' a license temporarily from the server onto another machine. This provides the ability to borrow a license for a special demo or to work over the weekend if needed to finish a project.
Users can now install only those files needed to deploy a system, reducing required space on disk, as well as distribution complexity on disk.
Vega Primeprovides the necessary controls to support information from this tool so that users have the ability to utilize buildings with interiors in their applications increasing realism and training value.
Vega Prime and Lyra include loader options to maximize the performance of databases using this database design.
Improved support of legacy content and database design constructs.
In addition to the new features and improvements of the Presagis Visualization products, some changes have been made to the modules structure.
There are three primary changes that will be made to the Visualization product lines. These changes encompass both product configuration and pricing changes.
Allows for rapid application prototyping and modification, meaning that you can see changes within the application as you make them.
Applications configured and developed on one platform may be deployed on another without code modification.
Provides the capability to render extremely high resolution imagery without affecting performance.
Create correlated visual and sensor displays.
Allows you to mix and match necessary feature sets or to create your own custom functionality within the Vega Prime environment.
Offers maximum flexibility within other application frameworks.
