Vice-President- Embedded Systems

Presagis is currently looking for a Montreal based Vice President, Embedded Systems, to join our company. Reporting to the General Manager, the Vice President will be responsible for overseeing the Embedded System Business Unit and managing all activities related to product development, quality assurance, customer service, technical services and project management. You will work in an environment where your knowledge will make a difference. Our team members must be resourceful people to find solutions to problems, with a positive attitude and forward-thinking nature. Your role in the team will be to help us develop the business.

During the transition period, the candidate will assume the position of Director of Services and Business Development. This position will allow to work in narrow collaboration with the current Vice President of Embedded Systems to become familiar with our products, customers and our internal processes.

The responsibilities of the Vice-President – Embedded Systems will be:

  • Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate the activities and operations of the Embedding system engineering business unit.
  • Ensure the organization will meet profitability goals and project performance, with direct daily management of engineering product development and quality assurance.
  • Implement appropriate rewards/recognition and coaching/corrective practices to align personnel with company goals.
  • Ensure all resources of the company are effectively mobilized, coordinated and organized to produce good quality products and solutions.
  • Implement a structured reporting on a regular basis to present Presagis’ Embedding system operations, growth and future developments and its performance (through KPIs and objectives status).
  • Direct the implementation of all necessary policies or innovations to maximize the efficiency levels, reduce waste in all respects, and strengthen execution systems.
  • Be accountable for employee-related functions including but not limited to employee engagement, development and performance management, hiring and retention, compensation recommendations.
  • Ensure high levels of customer and client satisfaction.
  • Lead and collaborate to deliver innovative technology solutions.
  • Provide thoughtful high quality presentations to the management team
  • Capable of translating and presenting technical concepts in practical business value.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to support positive inter-departmental partnerships.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s of Engineering, Computer Science or similar technical degree
  • technical visionary.
  • Master’s of Business Administration an asset.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in operations and engineering product development.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in team management with multiple departments.
  • A good understanding of the Aerospace certification process ( AS 9100 et AS9115).
  • Strong influencing, efficient communication and good interpersonal skills
  • Positive leadership.
  • Strategic vision of global operations.
  • Great decision making skills with an innate sense of accountability
  • Excellent attention to detail, time management and change management
  • Good financial and reporting skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and deal with a high volume of work and information.
  • Bilingual, French and English, speaking and writing. Another language is a plus.
  • Results-oriented and strong leadership with a proven ability to mobilize, inspire productivity, and lead in a multi-disciplinary team setting with a strong emphasis on collaboration across functional groups, including the ability to motivate other managers to define and achieve the team objectives.
  • Ability to travel at least 20% of the time.
