HMI and Instrumentation

In human-in-the-loop scenarios, instrumentation is represented by visual displays.

These displays range from PC monitors to actual embedded displays and are identical to the deployed system.  Visual displays are used for both control and simulated system diagnostics in ground vehicle, UAS ground station, and naval simulations.

Simulation displays may include

  • 2D/3D objects
  • touch buttons
  • haptics
  • live video
  • 2D moving maps
  • synthetic vision (3D view)
  • sensors (FLIR, NVG)

The challenge in developing any simulation training system is creating a faithful duplication of the deployed system that allows a trainer to reliably apply simulated occurrences to the simulation in real-time.

VAPS XT
from Presagis is uniquely suited to meet this challenge as it can be used to generate code for simulation displays in addition to embedded code for either embedded training or a deployed system.  With VAPS XT, you can create 2D/3D photo-realistic graphical displays, including instrumentation and equipment models, specifically for real-time 3D simulation and training applications.
