open standards \ COMMON DATABASE (cDB)
Presagis recently announced will be responsible for the ongoing development and support of Common Database (CDB) and will be making the CDB specification openly available to the modeling and simulation industry. The goal is to develop a user community that will provide Presagis with feedback and insight that can be used to advance the specification for the market in general.
To learn more about CDB or for information on the CDB user forum, please visit the CDB section of our web site.
AERIA'S USE OF CDB Presagis also announced that CDB will be a key enabler of the Aeria vision. While Aeria supports industry standards, including OpenFlight, TerraPage, OTF, CTDB, JCATS, and the GIS data format, our vision for our product portfolio will leverage the power of the CDB specification. With CDB, Aeria ensures the complete integration between all Presagis tools and 3rd party applications.
CDB Q&A What is the CDB specification?
The CDB specification is a common database format that supports multiple applications and promotes the reusability of data. Its architecture enables you to reuse existing environment databases, models, and GIS data and also allows you to quickly and seamlessly update your database without impacting on the integrity of existing data.
What is the history of CDB?
CDB was originally developed for the U.S. Special Operations Command (SOCOM) by CAE in 2004. A key driving factor for CDB is SOCOM's requirement for very rapid database generation for on-the-fly mission rehearsal in flight simulators, primarily special operations helicopters.
Why did Presagis adopt CDB?
The company believes in the value of open standards and CDB provides the ideal database standard to complement its existing portfolio. The company views CDB as an enabling technology to facilitate integration between its COTS products and provide a common platform that will translate into tremendous productivity gains to customers.

products \ new updates
Focused on a commitment to delivering visually-rich simulation environments and applications, Presagis has been working on ensuring new features and functions will be included in upgrade releases of its flagship brands including Terra VistaTM, CreatorTM, Vega PrimeTM, STAGE ScenarioTM, VAPS XTTM, LyraTM, and AI.implantTM. We have also been working closely with our strategic technology partners to build value for our products for our customers.
Terra Vista Terra Vista version 5.3 will feature a new optional VBS2 output compiler. Users will be able generate a correlated VBS2 output to use with popular formats such as JCATS, JSAF, OTF and CTDB. By leveraging Terra Vista's and IAVO's GeoGenesis toolkit, the industry's largest terrain database featuring automated feature extraction, photogrametry and image processing capabilities, users can minimize the time required to create highly detailed scenarios.

Creator,
STAGE Scenario & ai.implant workflow To improve workflow as development progresses from 3D model creation to simulation of MOUT scenarios in a Semi-Automated Forces (SAF) simulation, Presagis has tightened the integration between Creator version 3.5, AI.implant and STAGE Scenario. Based on open standards, this integration enables developers to create vital details such as interior building views or simulate entities entering and exiting through doors or looking through windows in a seamless way.

VAPS XT
For Presagis customers developing human-machine interfaces, the VAPS XT runtime frame rate has been improved by more than 68 percent by a new Quickdraw feature that is upcoming in version 2.3. Application memory footprint can now be optimized using new configuration options as well, helping to dramatically reduce footprint size.

In the next quarter, Presagis will introduce new features in its visualization product portfolio. Capabilities in Lyra, Lyra Sensors and Vega Prime will enhance important maritime simulation capabilities.
partners \ ecosystem

SimTecT 2008 At Australasia's premier simulation and training technologies conference, Presagis demonstrated its powerful suite of COTS modeling & simulation technology. Products such as STAGE, Terra Vista, Vega Prime and Creator were part of the SimTecT demonstrations that focused on COTS technology being used to provide accurate and real-time simulation of marine environments for multiple types of applications including unmanned and manned flight, deep water, and littoral simulations.

ITEC 2008 ITEC 2008 was the European launch of Presagis and also gave us the opportunity to present our new technology vision, Presagis Aeria.

The event was a great success and provided our European customers the ability to get hands-on demonstrations of Terra Vista, Creator, VAPS XT, Vega Prime, STAGE Scenario and more.
Our VP of Product and Program Management, Robert Kopersiewich, and our VP Research & Technology, Nick Giannias, were also on hand to introduce Aeria in a presentation in the ITEC Innovation Showcase - "Defining a Powerful and Open COTS M&S Workflow". The audience learned first hand how they will be able to leverage integrated Presagis COTS software and open standards in a new streamlined workflow to overcome M&S problems related to correlation, data reusability, and unnecessarily long build times.
EUROSATORY 2008 Eurosatory gave us the opportunity to continue the launch of Presagis Aeria to the European market.

Once again, Presagis executives were on hand to present our technology vision to the event audience. Presagis President & CEO, Patrice Commune, presented "Technology Trends in Simulation" and Director Simulation Products, Eric Simon, talked about the integration of simulation into operational systems with his presentation, Simulation for decision support and planning, a first responder use cases.
Eurosatory attendees also benefited from Presagis demonstrations of our portfolio of software.
IMAGE 2008 This year at the IMAGE Conference, Presagis demonstrated its COTS content creation and visualization software that can be used for the development of professional and immersive content for the full spectrum of modeling & simulation applications.

OpenFlight User Group The OpenFlight User Group meeting was also hosted at the IMAGE Conference where over 30 users met to discuss topics including OpenFlight Scripting, OpenFlight Extensions and OpenFlight Development Tools.

Simulation ConferencePresagis participated with its partner JC Systems at the Flight Simulation & Training (Russian Market - 2008) conference on June 19th and 20th at the Zhukovsky National Centre near Moscow. The event was sponsored by the Russian Federation Ministry of Industry and Energy, the Ministry of Defence, the Federal Agency on Industry, the Ministry of Transportation and the United Aircraft Corporation.

Topics of discussion at the conference included development, promotion, operation and after-sales support of fixed and rotary wing aircraft flight simulators, compliance of flight simulation training devices with international standards, and their upcoming update.
Industry Virtual Reality
Presagis partners, RealViz and CAD Center, also demonstrated our cutting-edge modeling & simulation products at the 16th Industry Virtual Reality Expo (IVR) in Tokyo. Traffic was high and many leads were generated at both booths where parties interested in Presagis software where able to make local contacts to answer their questions.
