Real DB - USS Ronald Reagan Simulation
This project simulates highly realistic displacements of the USS Ronald Reagan CVN-76 and CG70 Lake Erie in operation over the sea.
The goal for this project was to provide a high quality library of modern military 3D models in OpenFlight file format that are fully articulated, that plug & play with the Distributed Interactive Simulation (DIS) interoperability, and that run with Vega Prime Marine on a Windows platform. For the simulation, the team employed Creator to build and develop their 3D warships.
By using the mapping toolsets in Creator, they were able to combine multiple texture layers to provide high resolution details over the bridge and landing deck. Then, using Vega Prime Marine, the team at RealDB was able to quickly and easily create, attach, and modify special effects to an unlimited variety of ocean and weather conditions.
