The Quebec City database is a reproduction of old Quebec City in Canada with the Frontenac Castles and the governmental buildings. Real DB created the synthetic environment in collaboration with the DRDC Valcartier and the Ministry for National Defence of Canada.

The goal was to reproduce the real world, with the most accurate geometric modeling and photo-realistic textures possible, and be able to run the simulation in real-time with Vega on SGI and PC IG. The results were amazing! The project was delivered with a ground texture resolution at 20cm per pixel with the terrain accuracy at approximately 1 meter.

Multigen-Paradigm's toolsets were used to create the terrain skin and for site integration, including the building point models and their orientation and position. Real DB combined the aerial pictures with Multigen Creator to complete the details on the database and apply the ground textures. The vehicles in the scene are from Real DB's catalog of 3D military models. They were created using Multigen Creator.
