Flanders Hydraulics Research - Belgian Harbor Models
FHR created these high fidelity, full-mission bridge simulations using Presagis Creator and Vega Prime Marine.
Flanders Hydraulics Research (FHR), located in Antwerp Belgium, is a Flemish governmental institution that carries out hydraulic and hydrological research. FHR's nautical group has two full-mission bridge simulators that are used for training both pilots and captains, as well as for feasibility studies of harbours located in shallow or restricted water.
FHR developed the bridge simulations using Presagis Creator and Vega Prime Marine. Creator, which allows any development team to provide high-fidelity 3D content, was used for the harbour infrastructures, canals, rivers, and ships.
The FHR team used Vega Prime Marine for the visualization of the 3D model database and for the important marine and other environmental effects, like animation, smoke, fog, clouds, and flame.
The images shown here are views of three main Belgian harbors-the Port of Antwerp, the Port of Oostende, and the Port of Zeebrugge-as well as 360 degree
full-mission ship manoeuvring simulator and the operator room.
