When working with high-performance 3D applications, the two areas that tend to create the most headaches for developers are the selection of a video card and the installation and configuration of that video card's driver. Between choosing the right anti-aliasing mode, selecting the correct texture clamp mode, forcing mipmaps or not, and deciding if the application should always use vertical sync, getting the right performance out of a good video card for a specific application can sometimes become a process of trial and error.

With its latest drivers, NVIDIA has made it a lot easier for Presagis customers to configure their Quadro video cards to work with our suite of visualization tools (Vega Prime, Lyra, Sensor Products, and Thea Lite) by adding a Global Preset tailored to our applications within the NVIDIA control panel.

By selecting this new option, all of the card's settings will be configured to an optimal configuration that was established by our engineers in conjunction with NVIDIA's team. This type of pre–configuration  is a reflection of the Presagis focus on delivering the most user friendly products available that are tightly integrated with other industry leading technology.

To get access to the Presagis Visualization Presets, all you need to do is upgrade to version 185.86 or higher of the NVIDIA drivers for your Quadro video card and select the new option under the Global Settings tab of the Manage 3D settings section of the Control Panel. Of course, you can still make minor adjustments to these settings, especially if you use other graphics-intensive applications, but you will already be most of the way there.
