Aeria comes to life

November is always a busy time at Presagis with the I/ITSEC Conference and Exhibit right around the corner. This year is no exception with the first live demonstrations of the Presagis Aeria vision at the show. In many ways, Aeria brings to life the goal that Presagis has had since its inception: to provide a fully integrated suite of COTS modeling and simulation products.

While many of our tools had ways of communicating with each other before the creation of Presagis, Aeria brings this interoperability to a new level by creating an optimized workflow across the tool chain and by using a new open standard for all visual database storage, called Common Database (CDB).

While the OpenFlight and TerraPage database formats are near and dear to Presagis, CDB brings new capabilities to the table with its Open Source format, its embrace of standard formats such as OpenFlight and Shape files to store data in raw data form, and its runtime publishing capabilities. When using CDB, making changes to a database such as adjusting a building position or loading new satellite imagery can be done in a few minutes and the update can be seen immediately in CDB-enabled applications such as Vega Prime, AI.implant, STAGE or any other application adhering to the standard.

From the perspective of a user that has been using all of these new technologies for years, seeing the STAGE tactical display and stealth viewer both rendered using Vega Prime technology and CDB data for the first time was definitely an awe-inspiring moment. I was also impressed with  the quick turnaround of CDB updates.  Be sure to register for the CDB User Group Meeting taking place on Wednesday, December 3rd to learn more about the specification.

On this note, I invite you to visit us at Booth 2501 during the I/ITSEC Conference, from December 1st to the 4th at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando where you will be able to meet me and my peers from around the world to learn more about Aeria as well as see all of the new features that Presagis has introduced in our offerings over the past year.
