Creator Airports introduces a unique blend of GIS-based and traditional 3-D modeling tool capabilities that solve these long-standing problems and that allow for the fast and accurate generation of airport databases of all varieties.

Creator Airports is both a parametric modeling tool and a standard 3-D modeling tool, meaning that both the baseline parameters and visual characteristics of the model can be changed at any time. Traditional modeling required post processing, meaning publishing to an end device before validation. Using Creator Airports and current runtime modeling methodologies, all changes can be implemented and visually checked up front. And, in addition to being a powerful time saving tool for the creation of any airport, Creator Airports also offers significant time and cost savings for databases of very complex airports plagued by heavy iterative database processing. Templates are a key feature of Creator Airports and contain all of the characteristics of the airport object model, such as the surface, shoulders, edge, and center markings as well as arrival and departure lights. These templates have been created to closely meet FAA/JAA rules and guidelines. So, instead of creating the taxiway polygon per polygon, the user can select a taxiway template and create the entire taxiway in just a few clicks. Default templates are also provided for the taxiways, runways, markings, ground signs, buildings, and more. In addition, the user can easily change the parameters of the templates to reconfigure these high level object models--including changing the taxiway and shoulder width, increasing the accuracy of the curves, or adding low visibility markings--and immediately see the result.
