The STAGE Scenario 5.5 release contains many new features and improvements including:
Enhanced MOUT cababilities:
The Mission Editor includes many new trigger conditions and actions to support the new features in STAGE Scenario 5.5, such as Obstacles Awareness and Detailed Buildings. These new conditions and procedures are described briefly below.
- Obstacle Awareness
These new trigger conditions and actions give entities an awareness of coastlines, terrain features, and other entities. This allows them to: - Steer toward or away from coastlines, features, and other entities.
- Initate actions based on their proximity to a coastline, feature, or another entity
- Navigation
The new conditions and procedures in the Navigation category support the Low Level Flight mode introduced in this release of STAGE Scenario - Entity
The Entity category has two new procedures for setting the relative flight path angle and relative ground track. - AI.implant The Artificial Intelligence category includes new conditions and procedures, mostly to support the new Detailed Buildings feature
- DI-Guy, this new category provides conditions and procedures for platforms that have a DI-Guy character assigned to them. These conditions and procedures are used only when a simulation is viewed in the Scenario 3D Viewer.
Multi-story building simulation \ Detailed Buildings:
You can now add Detailed Buildings to your scenarios. A Detailed Building is an OpenFlight-format detailed 3D model of a building, including interior views, doors, and windows. You can run all or part of a simulation inside of a Detailed Building. In the simulation, entities can enter or exit the building through the doors, can move around within it, and can look into and out of the windows. If the building has more than one story, entities can move from one floor to another.
2D View and AI.implant debug enhancement
When a simulation is run using AI.implant to control one or more entities, the AI Debugger button will show AI.implant processing information in the Tactical Display. AI.implant debugging information includes the following:
- Paths: This is the path that an AI.implant controlled entity is following. It is
indicated by a red line that runs from the entity to an AI.implant
waypoint. - AI.implant Waypoints
- AI.implant Waypoint Networks
- AI.implant Obstacles: Obstacles that AI.implant-controlled entities must navigate around will be indicated with a highlighted border.
Improved standards based communication
- 3D Viewer design time communication
Scenarios can be displayed in the Scenario 3D Viewer at Design Time.
The changes made to the position of entities and waypoints in the Scenario Editor are reflected in the 3D Viewer. Design Time mode supports the same viewpoint types as Runtime mode, so scenario can be viewed from a fixed latitude, longitude, and altitude, or from an entity's position. Trajectories and waypoints can now also be displayed in the 3D Viewer in Design Time mode. - HLA \ DIS Gateway out of the box: STAGE Scenario now uses an HLA-DIS Gateway to participate in a High Level Architecture (HLA) exercise or in an exercise that includes both DIS-enabled and HLA-enabled applications. The gateway is provided by the SIM OneNet product from Presagis. A STAGE Scenario specific version of SIM OneNet is included in your STAGE Scenario installation. Within the Scenario Manager is a Gateway Control window to setup communications between it and the gateway, and to start the gateway from within the Scenario Manager.
- Enhanced Collision PDU for DIS communications
Enhanced configuration management
To make development more efficient, The Configuration Manager is a new utility in the Scenario Manager that makes customization of STAGE Scenario easier to meet your needs. The Configuration Manager simplifies the task of customization by bringing together, in one convenient utility, property settings that previously were spread across numerous configuration files or available only through system environment variables.
From training and operational analysis to simulation-based acquisition and research, the STAGE software suite is the ideal solution for any situation where high-fidelity simulation is critical to mission success.
