VAPS XT 661 Module
VAPS XT 661 add-on module provides a quick and easy way to specify and design any cockpit display system that requires compliance with the new ARINC 661 aviation standard. With VAPS XT 661, you can define the graphical representation and behavior of widgets according to the look and feel specified by the Style Guide of any given aircraft manufacturer.
Teams of HMI developers use VAPS XT 661 to jointly develop the look and feel of avionic subsystems and Cockpit Display Systems with User Applications. Through new display modeling technology, VAPS XT 661 offers unprecedented flexibility and time savings for creating user-defined objects and displays.
VAPS XT 661 offers the following functionality:
- incredible flexibility and extensibility for developing user-defined objects/widgets,
- an easy-to-use graphical editor that speeds up ARINC 661 display design,
- powerful Object Model based architecture,
- display layout files that are saved in an extensible human-readable XML format,
- More than 20 out-of-the box ARINC 661 widgets
Among many new features and enhancements, this release includes a merge and major upgrade of the VAPS XT ARINC 661 tool set functionality, last released as version 1.1. The ARINC 661 capability is now a licensable plug-in to the generic VAPS XT 2.2 tool set. As a VAPS XT 661 customer, you are automatically entitled to a free VAPS XT 2.2 Designer license and the new ARINC 661 module. With the new module, VAPS XT 2.2 has all of the VAPS XT 661 capabilities and more:
- Embeddable ARINC 661 Graphics Server (CDS Kernel): The VAPS XT ARINC 661 CDS Kernel is called the Graphics Server. The Graphics Server is a stand alone executable that is now generated by code generation. It now uses and is compatible with the generic VAPS XT run time engine, allowing porting to embedded systems.
- Code Generation of Built Widgets: Built widgets are now code generated as part of the graphics server. This allows them to be ported to embedded systems just like regular VAPS XT generated code and the other elements of the graphics server.
- Interoperability of ARINC 661 with Generic VAPS XT: Interoperability is now supported between generic VAPS XT and the VAPS XT ARINC 661 functionality. This interoperability leverages the fact that the ARINC 661 functionality is built upon and uses the common core of the VAPS XT technology.
