I know I asked for texture attributes to carry through a composite operation if subtextures already existed.  I have another request, and if anyone has every used compositor to add texture to an existing palette (alt+drag allows you to overlap), or tried to manuall pack stuff, you’ll agree ...

I want to be able to type in the lower left corner coordinate where I want a selected texture to go!  I have a 4096 with some blank space, I am trying to lay in a couple of new pieces, and it is impossible to get it to the exact location I want.  You can have a box that pops up to warn you (and ask if you want to override) that you are overlapping, but i really need a way to get a pattern to an exact location!

It would also be nice to add some zoom and pan functionality.

And a lovely block of cheese would be nice, perhaps something ripened, maybe a brie?

But really a deterministic way of placing a texture.

Even a “bump” would be OK, like using the arrow keys to move the selected pattern a pixel at a time while holding alt.  That actually would be lovely as well.

And I know I CAN use photoshop to build the palette, but it doesn’t do the auto mapping of the polygons.

We are planning extensive enhancements for Texture Compositor for Creator 4.2.  We will consider what you have suggested.  Thanks, as always, for the good ideas!

Actually if we added Pan/Zoom, perhaps you would not need the text field to enter values.  Presumably if you zoomed in to 1:1 screen pixel to texel ratio, you’d have enough resolution on the screen to move 1 texel at a time…

Hmmm… perhaps this enhancement would provide 2 solutions at once wink

Yes, pan/zoom would allow me to zoom in and move with more accuracy.  Make sure you include “Fit” so you can get it close and hop to the spot.

But it still sould be nice to have a “bump” and a “type it in” so I didn’t have to do the other operations if I didn’t want to bother.
