Copying and pasting empty nodes

Ever since 3.5.1, I’ve not been able to do it. “nothing to paste” it claims. I claim otherwise.

I’m wanting to set out a nice hierarchy structure, with all my nodes, names and comments, and whathaveyou; all before I start to add in the geometry.

I find it much more to my style of working to copy and paste multiple empty nodes (just because of the way I work, and the way it copies the names too) rather than creating a new node each time, especially when you can copy one ‘tree’ of nodes, with all your switches, groups and objects all set up, all in one go.

Have I missed a tick box in the preferences somewhere, or has this feature been completely removed?

Because if it’s been removed, I’d very much like to see it reinstated.

Ta very much,
Alex.

I understand what you are saying, but as a “solution” now, you can always put a poly anywhere in the hier. right?

i find that i can make an hier. and on the bottem layer put in one virtex that you can remove later

if you try copy past on the bottem of the screen it says “nothing to paste” so adding some thing of substance(translucent box, vertex, sound) will let you copy and past

Well, that’s fine for now i guess, but considering the option used to be there, and now it isn’t, I shouldn’t really have to.

But for the time being, i shall. Oh well.

Hmmm.  I have not used 3.5.1 yet, but i consistantly rely on the ability to copy and paste an empty hierarchy to use as a template into a georeferenced airfield model.  I would view the removal of this capability as unsatisfactory.  And while I’m sure there are half a dozen ways around it, single poly you remove later, yada yada yada, the basic premise of having to do one more thing every time really gets in the way of a streamlined process.  Especially when you go to publish 50 airfields and 3000+ buildings, and you try to script as much as you can, and there is not a robust “script capture” capability within Creator - about which I am about to open a separate thread.

We have located the problem. It was broken during a fix to Bug #17741and has now been corrected. The fix will be included in the next release of Creator.  I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.

Ahh lovely stuff, thank you. Glad to hear it was an error rather than taken out on purpose. smile
