The statemap function are:

Parent Analysis
Child Analysis
Sibling Analysis
Buffer Analysis
Terrace Analysis

I couldn’t find anything in the documentation or online about Buffer and Terrace analysis.  What exactly do they do?

——- update——-

I found out what buffer does:

Right click the Design map, and select “Buffer analysis” to
ensure there is a ‘layer cake’ design and click OK. This
ensures your LODs do not share common edges.

Terrace Analysis:

For the specified increment of levels, the cells in each level must be spatially contained by the next lower level. No edges or corners of the perimeter of a level may be coincident with the perimeter of the next lower level.

However, the only exception is that LOD perimeters MAY be coincident at the
perimeter of the coverage.
