I have installed Thea Lite on two different machines, I am attempting to view CDB data with this tool.
On both machines, I add the path to the CDB data, when I click file open CDB data I get a dialog box stating “could not find any server”. on the first launch the VRTP3 window opens in the backgound.
but the client cannot see this RTP. Any Suggestions?

Good afternoon,

A quick question/check to help start diagnosing the problem.  On your machine, do you have a firewall enabled that perchance could be blocking non-essential ports? There are some default ports that the underlying RTP/converter processes use that might be blocked by the firewall.  The port values can be located under

<install directory>\Thea_1\config\vegaprime\vpcdb\

client.ini (this file is used to connect the client (Thea) to the RTP and the port setting can be located under the

[SERVER]
RequestPort=

The second port to look at is the RTP to Converter communication port and that is located in the rtp.ini file

[SERVER]
RequestPort=

and
[SELF]
RequestPort=

Please double check these ports and ensure that if you perchance do have a firewall, that these ports are open.

If not,  we can continue to assist in diagnosing the issue.

Sincerely,
David

Ensured firewall is not running, all ports are set to the defaults for the RTP.
I heard a new release is coming with this fix?

Does your machine have a network connection?

Yes it has a network connection, tcpip, provided by dhcp.

We are efforting a patch currently to resolve some of the CDB network conflicts that could be the cause of this issue, an annoucement will be made when the patch is available for download.

I am having the same problem. I am running everything on the same machine. Basically, the only thing that I mainly did was provide the CDB location in the CDB settings. Based on the documentation, Thea would start a Converter and RTP process if I am not using any remote ones. However, I still get that error.

I have got the same issues here, I tried it on two machines already. Did anybody find a workaround for this issue that works or some more clues about the cause of it?

Arno
