i working in aerospace defense company that create military simulators,
we worked before with multygen and now with presagis, till now all good +-
last month i got a copy of the airport wizard that is kind of stand alone plug for creator, same as it very expensive.
i got this copy to investigate it and buy it to create and use it for our needs and speedup the work.

i had build one airport with this tool, the tool itself is nice, very not user friendly, and have big problem with the flt output.

the big problem is that it not do subfaces, and it mean that it not cut all the white marking strips or the taxiways as it should be ,
it mean that you have bunch of houres of work to fix, slice and reorder all faces to not have flickering issues on run time view app.s kind of vega prime.

another big issiue is the light systems in this wizard, in output the light as dummy lights….they have no life, they come as omni lights…so you need to fix them by yourself too.

—- bottom line
- ,presagis did too muck noise for this tool ... they was talked too much abaut it, they was promiss to much…. for nothing
no tutorial build for it… i mean honest company my them tutorials or normal and easy-to -use documentation for it. presagis was mass all of this “help” with creator help documantion…very big mass!!!!!

Hello,
I am working with external reference buildings, and I come back to modify the height. Example:
1) Place a new external reference building set to fix height of 4m.
2) Want to change height to 3m, picked the just place building and select “Insert Transformation Matrix” box.
3) Select “Rotate/Scale To Point”, “Add After”, “Start Tool”, “Scale” button, enter center, reference point and to point.
4) OK to exit.
5) Need to change the height to 3.75m.
6) Pick the building and go back to “Insert Transformation Matrix” box.
7) Pick the “Rotate/Scale To Point” entry and try to change the height to 3.75m. The “To Point” is automatically selected, so put in 3.75 in the “Scale Length (Center <—> To):” box. Exit with OK and model disappears to a new location, high over the original position.

Current solution:
1)To change to 3.75m, at step 7 above after picking the “Rotate/Scale To Point”, delete that entry and reselect the “Rotate/Scale To Point” and redo step 3 with 3.75.

I have no problem with modifying “Translate” entry, pick a point on the model move it to where I want it no problem. What step am I missing, or am I suppose to delete the “Rotate/Scale To Point” and start it again?

I want to be able to type in the lower left corner coordinate where I want a selected texture to go! I have a 4096 with some blank space, I am trying to lay in a couple of new pieces, and it is impossible to get it to the exact location I want. You can have a box that pops up to warn you (and ask if you want to override) that you are overlapping, but i really need a way to get a pattern to an exact location!

It would also be nice to add some zoom and pan functionality.

And a lovely block of cheese would be nice, perhaps something ripened, maybe a brie?

But really a deterministic way of placing a texture.

This may have been cover in past forum, but different versions of “Forum Search”, “refresh”, “refresh screen”,... does not work in Creator and window 7. There must be something I forgot. One new system use Window 7 OS, Creator 4.0.
I load in a model and I delete faces from the model and move the scene around to get at other faces. However, nothing moves so I wait a few seconds thinking Creator is thinking about it (this does not happen on the other two systems with XP OS). After 30 seconds I finally resort to right clicking in the Creator title bar and pick “Restore”, which change window to a default smaller size.
Is this like the problem in another topic with Window 7 about selecting with fence mode and seeing a gray box and the fix was to switch to “Classic Window 7” (which I had to do)?
Is there a flag in “Preference” to click to get automatic refresh/restore to work after making changes to a model?

As a warning about the power and danger of scripts ...

I wrote a “Collapse Matrices” script that would find all XForms on Xrefs and collapse them. Batch mode so I could do dozens of files at a time, and runs ~80% faster than the tool in Creator itself.

I then found that the Place model tools puts a matrix (or matrices) on the group node above the XRef, so pulled the

out of the script, and simply did a check to see if a node had a transform.

We discovered much later that that buggers up all the light strings that were entered as “light string with delta”. apparently type of light string has an XForm on it somewhere embedded in the record that the user is unaware of, and when you collapse that matrix it pretty much gets rid of all the lightpoints in the string other than the first vertex.

So I put a

in there and everything is fine.

So warning - if you are using scripts to modify a whole bunch of objects in a “destructive” fashion (you can’t unscramble those eggs), thoroughly test, and either CM or make a copy of the pre-modified files until you have a chance to publish and QA the end results 8*).
