The Presagis 3D Visualization Software Solutions and Concurrent's ImaGen Visual Servers Offers World-Class COTS-Based Solution
Montreal, QC - March 18, 2008 - Presagis, a leading provider of commercial-off-the shelf (COTS) modeling, simulation, and embedded display graphics software, and Concurrent (NASDAQ:CCUR), a leading provider of time-critical Linux® operating systems and integrated computer solutions for mission-critical applications, today jointly announced that Lockheed Martin has selected their integrated 3D software, Lyra, and image generator (IG) solution to upgrade two existing training systems for the U.S. Air Force Air Education and Training Command.
The contract calls for replacing existing proprietary hardware and software with COTS products and follows the successful installation and acceptance of two new trainers previously awarded in August, 2006. The upgraded F-16 flight cockpit simulators will be utilized at the Networked Training Center (NTC) facility, Luke Air Force Base in Arizona USA.
Luke Air Force Base purchased the integrated Presagis/Concurrent solution which includes eleven OTW (out the window) channels and 3 sensor (night vision goggles (NVG), infrared (IR)) channels for each cockpit trainer based on Presagis software solutions. The chosen ImaGen visual server multi-channel configuration is powered by Concurrent's RedHawkTM real-time Linux®, compatible with Red Hat® Enterprise Linux 4.
"Luke AFB will continue to be a very important customer for Presagis and we are pleased to assist them in this trainer upgrade process," Said Patrice Commune, President, Presagis. "Luke AFB's cockpit simulators demand a lot from our products and this upgrade opportunity is an excellent example of the strength and flexibility our COTS offerings provide in support of leading edge training for the warfighter. We value our longstanding customer relationship and we're very excited to see our unique strengths in correlated training in all wavelengths including OTW, NVG and IR are being exercised in this cooperative solution with Concurrent".
"Luke AFB's repeated selection of the Presagis/Concurrent IG solution is testimony to our ability to deliver the highest levels of high-fidelity, high-performance COTS visuals and value to the simulation and training industry," said Ken Jackson, VP of Special Systems, Concurrent.
