Stockholm, Sweden - ITEC - June 10, 2008 - Presagis, a leading provider of commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) modeling, simulation and embedded display graphics software, today announced new features across its suite of content creation, visualization, simulation and human-machine interface (HMI) development products. Focused on a commitment to delivering visually-rich simulation environments and applications, Presagis has upgraded its flagship brands (including Terra VistaTM, CreatorTM, Vega PrimeTM, STAGE ScenarioTM, VAPS XTTM, LyraTM, and AI.implantTM) and established strategic technology partnerships to build value for its customers.
"Our customers require tools that enable the creation of dynamic, stimulating scenarios to support effective testing and training across a variety of projects and missions," said Robert Kopersiewich, Vice President of Product and Program Management, Presagis. "This series of product updates is in line with the ongoing feedback from our users. They deliver new capabilities and integrate features that streamline our user's workflow while providing our customers with the ability to generate the world's most advanced applications."
To support the complex content creation requirements for applications such as Military Operations in Urban Terrain (MOUT) and emergency response, Creator Buildings is now available to accelerate the creation of detailed buildings and, for the first time, building interiors. This new optional Creator module will provide many advanced tools and utilities for the rapid creation of detailed 3-D structures, both inside and out.
Terra Vista now features a new optional VBS2 output compiler. Users can now generate a correlated VBS2 output to use with popular formats such as JCATS, JSAF, OTF and CTDB. By leveraging Terra Vista's and IAVO's GeoGenesis toolkit, the industry's largest terrain database featuring automated feature extraction, photogrametry and image processing capabilities, users can minimize the time required to create highly detailed scenarios.
To improve workflow as development progresses from 3D model creation to simulation of MOUT scenarios in a Semi-Automated Forces (SAF) simulation, Presagis has tightened the integration between Creator, AI.implant and STAGE Scenario. Based on open standards, this integration enables developers to create vital details such as interior building views or simulate entities entering and exiting through doors or looking through windows in a seamless way. STAGE Scenario now features new trigger conditions to ensure entities driven by AI.implant are aware of, and can respond to, obstacles such as coastlines, terrain features and detailed buildings.
To deliver the industry's leading entity behaviour, the latest release of AI.implant includes augmented authoring with the ability to write script using Lua Language and ZoneSensor. These features give entities the ability to recognize if they have entered or exited targeted zones. In addition, users can leverage the AI Debugger feature in the STAGE Scenario SAF to show entity paths, waypoints, waypoint networks and obstacles.
For Presagis customers developing human-machine interfaces, the VAPS XT runtime frame rate has been improved by more than 68 percent by a new Quickdraw feature that is available in version 2.3. Application memory footprint can now be optimized using new configuration options as well, helping to dramatically reduce footprint size. VAPS XT features an innovative record and playback feature that facilitates testing and application sharing. Furthermore, all core VAPS XT modules now ship with a VAPS to VAPS XT converter allowing customers to import legacy VAPS designs into VAPS XT. Presagis is also partnering with GE Fanuc Intelligent Platforms (GEFIP) to ensure optimal VAPS XT performance on the latest GEFIP embedded computing platforms.
"Presagis has established a strong partner ecosystem to ensure that our customers can benefit from a complete solution when employing our software products," said Laura Schmid, Director of Third Party and Strategic Marketing, Presagis. "Working closely with our partners we have been able to expand the scope of the Presagis product portfolio with a broader set of capabilities that more effectively deliver the value and return on investment that our customers are looking for."
In the next quarter, Presagis will introduce new features in its visualization product portfolio. Capabilities in Lyra, Lyra Sensors and Vega Prime will enhance important maritime simulation capabilities. Vega Prime users can take advantage of the company's partnership with Bionatics Blueberry 3D, a leader in procedural 3D plant modeling technology, to quickly create vast terrain databases automatically and obtain highly realistic vegetation with Bionatics' plant modeling REALnat Premium. Users can also look forward to enhanced integration between Vega Prime and VAPS XT for developing sophisticated HMIs and overlays.
Located in booth B116, Presagis will showcase its product portfolio and highlight the advancements made to each software set at ITEC on June10-12.
