Montreal (Canada) - January 13th, 2005 - Engenuity Technologies [TSX: EGY], a leading provider of solutions for the development of high-end visualization and simulation applications, today announced that OKTAL (http://www.oktal.fr) has purchased licenses of its STAGE Helisim simulation software. OKTAL will use Helisim in its contract with the French ministry of defense to supply helicopter simulators in order to improve the performance and survivability of military helicopter pilots in combat.
The demands made on the pilots of modern military helicopters are stringent. They must fly fast and low to accomplish precise, covert missions in the most hostile of environments, with no visible lights during nighttime maneuvers. Engenuity’s STAGE software product helps to create a virtual, simulated environment for practicing missions, in order to ensure the safe return of the pilot and help save lives.
“OKTAL has selected the right technology by adopting STAGE,” said Patrice Commune, President and CEO of Engenuity. “Development of tactical systems for military aircraft and assessment of survivability cannot be achieved without simulation. Engenuity is well positioned to participate in many more programs like this, according to Frost and Sullivan’s market research data that forecasts close to 5,000 military aircraft system upgrades in the next five years.”
