Overview: The use of simulation in areas such as analysis, acquisition and training is well known and has proven benefits. Combining simulation with operational systems provides new capabilities such as decision support, mission planning and rehearsal. We will review two use cases demonstrating these concepts and how they were applied and used, as well as the added capabilities that simulation provides to operations. The first use case is the use of simulation for first responder analysis and planning in response to a CBRN event. The second use case is the use of simulation within an operational system to support the deployment of EMS-Paramedics, optimizing coverage, distance and fuel consumption.
